SAN DIEGO, Calif. – At 3-0-1 over the past three matches, the University of Hawaii at Hilo maybe hitting their stride following today's 1-1 (2OT) tie with Point Loma Nazarene University in the first of three road matches SoCal.
 
Alejandro Patino got the Vulcans on the board first midway through the first half. The senior forward picked up a deflection and slipped his shot past PLNU goalie Michael Lambert for his third goal of the year.
 
It wasn't long before PLNU got back into the match. Lewis Grant put a high crossing pass into the middle of the box where Nico Tagaloa headed it past Vulcans goalie Cassidy Dixon.
 
Both teams would take three more shots on goal but the Sea Lions were credited with 10 more shots than the Vulcans.
 
The Vulcans next face Concordia University on Thursday, October 29 in Irvine, Calif.
