KAILUA KONA, Hawai`i--No. 5 nationally ranked Hawai`i Pacific moved to 2-0 on the young season with a 9-0 win over Hawai`i Hilo on Monday at the Holua Tennis Center.
The match wrapped up a tough five-match stand in Kona for the Vulcans, who will return home with a 1-4 mark. All four losses came to teams ranked in the top 25 nationally, with three of those losses to top five squads.
The Sharks won all six singles matches and all three doubles contests in straight sets.
UH Hilo will now get some extended time off from matches, not hitting the courts again until a series of matches beginning March 8 (March 8-11) in Honolulu. They will play Dominican on the 8th.
