SANTEE, Calif.--The UH Hilo men's golf team dropped four spots on the final day of the UC San Diego SoCal Intercollegiate golf tournament, played at the Carlton Oaks course in Santee.
After shooting solid scores of 298 and 303 on Monday to sit in seventh place of 15 teams, the Vulcans fell back to a 317 on Tuesday to finish 11th with a +54. Dixie State won the tournament at +17, followed by Cal State San Marcos (+19) and Cal State Monterey Bay (+25).
UHH's
Jared Kinoshita fired a one-over 73 on Tuesday to finish the tournament at +7, good for a 11th place tie (75-75-73).
Taylor Patrick was right behind him at +8 (70-77-77).
Colorado-Colorado Springs' Colin Prater was the tournament winner at three under par. Braeden Koran of Cal State San Marcos was next at -1, followed by Elis Svard of Cal State Monterey Bay (even).
Next action for the Vulcans will be on April 7-8 at the Hawaii Challenge, hosted by BYU-Hawaii.
