OAKLAND, Calif.—The Hawai`i Hilo women's tennis team evened their record at 5-5 with a 9-0 sweep of Holy Names University on Saturday at the Meyer Tennis Courts.

The Vulcans cruised in five of the matches but had to win four tight battles against the Hawks—two on the singles courts and two in doubles.

Marina Colvee battled back on court four after dropping the first set to Eliza McKean, rallying for a 6-7 (2-7), 6-1, 10-8 victory. Irena Le had to go the distance as well against Rutendo Gwaze at No. 6 before prevailing 6-2, 5-7, 10-8.

In doubles on court one, Danielle Sanz and Devanshi Bhimjivani outlasted Jahan Bayramova and Dominique Ernst, 8-7 (8-6). UHH's Le and Sarin Marin slipped by Gwaze and Amaru Hernandez at third doubles, 8-6.

With the team victory, the Vulcans are now 4-2 against teams from the west region. They will continue a long road trip with a Monday match at Stanislaus State in Turlock, Calif.
