HONOLULU, Hawai`i—Host Hawai`i Pacific picked up their second win of the season over visiting Hawai`i Hilo, taking down the Vulcans 4-0 on Saturday at the Ala Moana Tennis Courts.

The Sharks improved to 9-5 on the season, while the Vulcans fell to 4-10. All of HPU's losses this season are either to nationally ranked Division II teams or to Division I squads. Hawai`i Pacific is currently ranked No. 10 in the latest ITA national rankings.

The Sharks picked up the doubles point with a pair of wins, and then had battles at the top two singles spots. Sandra Dafincescu went three sets before losing, and Marina Colvee fought gamely on court one, staving off defeat in a 6-4, 5-4 unfinished tally against No. 14 nationally ranked Elodie Busson.

The Vulcans will wrap up the regular season on Sunday, taking on Chaminade. After that are the Pacific West Conference Championships, April 17-20 in Surprise, Arizona.
