HONOLULU, Hawai`i—The Hawai`i Hilo women's tennis team worked off nearly three weeks of rust with a 6-1 victory over Chaminade on Monday afternoon at the Don Andrews Diamond Head Tennis Center.

The Vulcans took the doubles team point by winning all three matches, and then captured five of the six singles bouts. Playing on court one for the first time this year, Sandra Dafincescu claimed a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Catrina Liner to improve to 4-1 overall on the season.

Other singles winners included Irena Le, Gabriela Aguilar Lawlor, Shelby Graber and Mia Rosa.

Dafincescu, Le, Graber and Rosa were all double winners on the day by virtue of winning both singles and doubles.

On Tuesday, the Vulcans will take on No. 8 nationally ranked Hawai`i Pacific. Start time is 11:30 a.m. at the Kailua Racquet Club.
