HILO, Hawaii– Daelenn Tokunaga scored an academic accolade to go with her list of accomplishments she has received for the 2021 season.
Tokunaga was just named a First Team Scholar All-American by the United Soccer Coaches Association. She ended the fall semester with a 3.75 GPA and is working on completing her bachelor's degree in Administration of Justice.
Tokunaga was invited, along with the other honorees, to attend the All-America Ceremony and Reception on Saturday, Jan. 22 in Kansas City, Missouri.
The All-America Ceremony will honor All-America players at the youth, high school and college levels with the purpose of celebrating the best amateur soccer players in the United States in 2021.

Tokunaga has reaped many awards for the Fall 2021 season. The University of Hawai`i transfer led the Vulcans to their first conference title and their first appearance in the NCAA West Regional.
Tokunaga was named PacWest Player of the Year and D2CCA First Team All-West Region. She led the PacWest conference in goals and scoring, totaling 13 goals and four assists (30 points). Tokunaga also led the NCAA West Region in goals scored and goals scored per match (0.92).
