KOHALA COAST, Hawai`i--The UH Hilo women's tennis team enjoyed their Senior Day with a pair of wins over Chaminade on Saturday at the Fairmont Orchid Resort.
The Vulcans won a morning bout (7-0) and an afternoon match-up (7-0) to improve to 7-5 on the season. The Silverswords fell to 0-6. The dual wins will serve as the final tune-up for the Vulcan women before the Pacific West Conference Championships in Arizona, April 21-24.
The Vulcans won all of their matches in straight sets. The best match of the day came on court two in the second game, a 7-5, 7-6 win for
Hannah Highsmith over Kayleen Lau.
UH Hilo honored their lone senior,
Carmelle Joyner. Joyner won two singles matches today, improving to 7-3 on the year. She has been a Vulcan starter for four seasons, dating back to 2018.
