HILO, Hawai'i – The women's basketball team is set to play Academy of Art tomorrow, Jan. 12 at 5pm HST in the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.
The Vulcans head into their game against ART U on a three-game winning streak (5-2, 2-1 PacWest). Thursday is the Vulcans first game since their epic 76-73 upset-win against, at the time, Women's Basketball Coaches Association's
nationally ranked No. 5 Alaska Anchorage in overtime.
UH Hilo's win over Alaska Anchorage earned them a slot in the D2SIDA Media Poll for the next week. The Vulcans slid into No. 8 in the West Region and climbed to No. 7 the following week where they remain currently.

Mandi Kawaha is third in scoring in the Pacific West Conference with 132 points, averaging 18.9 points a game. Kawaha is also third in the conference for most assists totalling 35, averaging five a game.
Nikki Miller leads the PacWest Conference in rebounding with 81 total rebounds, averaging 11.6 rebounds a game.
Sara Shimizu currently leads the conference with a 3-pt field goal percentage of .439.

The Red and Black are currently fourth in the conference, while Academy of Art sits in second.
