HILO, Hawai'i – Aniwaniwa Tait-Jones was awarded this week's PacWest Player of the Week for his performances against Biola and Academy of Art which caused the Vulcans to move to first place in the PacWest standings.
Tait-Jones scored 17 points against the Eagles on Monday, Jan. 10 in the Vulcans 97-89 win. At that time, the Eagles were ranked No. 4 in the West Region by D2SIDA. Tait-Jones collected his third double-double of the season against BU with 13 rebounds. He also dished out five assists on offense and posted two blocks and two steals on defense.
Tait-Jones was instrumental in the Vulcans' 75-72 victory over ART U. The Freshman put up 22 points and collected 13 rebounds for his fifth 20-point game and fourth double-double of the season. Tait-Jones also contributed three assists, two blocks, and one steal to help his team slide up to first place in the conference.
