WAIPAHU, Hawai'i– The UH Hilo women's tennis team started their 2022 campaign against a tough competitor, facing ITA's nationally ranked No. 24 Biola Eagles. 
 
The Vulcans fell 4-3 in a competitive match to the Eagles at Hawai'i Patsy T. Mink Central O'ahu Regional Pack, beginning their season 0-1, while BU improved 3-0. 
 
UH Hilo has an opportunity to even out their record today as they are set to compete against Dominican University at 3pm HST. 
 
Biola started off the match by quickly capturing the doubles point, which turned out to be the decision maker in the match as UHH and BU split the individuals, 3-3.
 
UH Hilo's Julia Barden, Nanami Okamoto, and Hannah Highsmith individually picked up wins in the Vulcans 4-3 loss to the Eagles.
