WAIPAHU, Oahu--The No. 7 nationally ranked Azusa Pacific Cougars rolled to a 4-0 clinch victory in women's tennis over Hawai`i HIlo on Saturday morning at the Patsy T. Mink Oahu Regional Tennis Center.

The Cougars, picked to finish second in the Pacific West Conference, improved to 3-2 on the season, while the Vulcans fell to 1-2. UH Hilo will play against this afternoon against Chaminade at 3 pm HT.

Nora Liga, a Lynn University transfer that is ranked No. 3 in NCAA Division II, topped Carolina Alfonsin (6-1, 6-1) and teamed with Madison Kane at No. 1 doubles to defeat Alfonsin and Hannah Highsmith (6-2). Liga is unbeaten this year, which includes a victory over a Division I opponent from Cal State Fullerton.

UH Hilo's Julia Barden had the Vulcan's best shot at a win at No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles. On the singles court, she was almost even with Carolyn Brooner when the match was halted (6-3, 2-5, UNF). In doubles with Nanami Okamoto, they were leading 4-3 when the tandem team point was clinched.

Former Kealakehe High School standout April Wong finished the Cougar scoring in singles with a 6-3, 6-3 win over UHH's Hikari Osaki on court four.
