CALIFORNIA – The Hawai'i Hilo women's tennis team wrapped up its week-long slate of matches with contests against No. 25 Midwestern State, Concordia University Irvine and No. 13 Azusa Pacific.
The Vulcans fell in all three matches as Hikari Osaki and McKenna Mountain each went 2-1 in singles.
"They played hard and showed other teams they're here to compete. All matches were competitive," Vulcans head coach Kallen Mizuguchi said. "There's some minor injuries but overall it was a positive trip. I think moving forward we need to just believe we can win and compete like that in every match."
Hawai'i Hilo fell to Midwestern State (4-2), CUI (4-2) and APU (6-1) to move to a 4-7 record.
The Vulcans will have two weeks to prepare for a three-match home slate against Chaminade (0-3) and HPU (8-5).
"They'll be fired up. It's nice to have some home games," Mizuguchi said.
Hawai'i Hilo and Chaminade will play two matches Saturday, April 1 followed by a single match against HPU on Sunday, April 2.
