Penultimate PacWest Rankings Released As Big Weekend Looms Ahead

The men's team stayed just outside the bubble at No. 9 while women's team moved down a spot despite two wins.

In the last rating before the FINAL rating, some shifting occurred on the men's side while the women's list remained mostly the same in the April 5 Pacific West Conference Tennis rankings. 

The Pacific West Conference Men's and Women's Tennis Championships will be held April 19-22 in Surprise, Arizona. The top eight teams will qualify on the men's side and the top 12 will advance from the women's seedings to the tournament. 

For the men, Azusa Pacific moved from fourth to third, and MSU-Denver went from sixth to fourth. Concordia fell from third to fifth, and Biola went from fifth to sixth. 

For the women's ranking, the top four teams remained the same. Fresno Pacific, who defeated Academy of Art last week (4-3), swapped spots with the Urban Knights at No. 5 and 6. 

The rankings, voted on by a committee of eight administrators from the PacWest (two from each geographical pod) list all 10 men's teams and all 15 women's programs in the conference. The final selection, which will determine the tournament field and seeding, will be released on April 10. 

All records listed are through Sunday, April 2. The first record is that team's mark against all Division II teams and the second record is their head-to-head mark against fellow PacWest teams.
