HONOLULU, Hawai'i – The Hawai'i Hilo Women's Cross Country returned to action at the Chaminade 5K Invitational Saturday morning at Kapi'olani Regional Park on O'ahu.
The Vulcans had the minimum number of runners needed to garner a team score of 94 for a fourth-place finish.
Megan Donovan, who was competing at her first collegiate event, led the way finishing just outside the top 10 with a No. 11 placement. Donovan, a senior, is also a member of the Hawai'i Hilo Women's Soccer team.
The remaining four Vulcans runners finished in order at slots No. 19-22.
Hawai'i Hilo finished just three points behind HPU in the team standings.
UH Manoa again took the top spot along with Alexandra Zanon claiming a first-place finish at 19:44.0.

On the men's side, HPU defeated Chaminade as Silverswords freshman Mason Stewart claimed the individual crown (17:07.3).
Hawai'i Hilo will head to Washington for the Bill Roe Invitational hosted by Western Washington at Lake Padden Park next Saturday, Sept. 23.
The Vulcans will then host their lone home meet of the season, Sept. 30 at the Grand Naniloa Resort Banyans Golf Course.
