LAS CRUCES, New Mexico – Dylan Bercan one-upped himself by one shot to conclude the three-day NCAA Men's Golf South Central/West Regional with a four-under 67 final round score for a minus-two finish at 10th place.
Hawai'i Hilo totaled 293 on the final day as it remained at No. 16 to wrap up the 2024 season. The Vulcans finished plus-33 for a tie with Cal State East Bay and Cal State San Marcos.
Bercan shot a three-under 68 score in Friday's Round 2 to shoot up 50 spots on the individual leaderboard before hitting five birdies to snake up 15 more slots to a three-way tie at No. 10. Nicholas Gomez and Dysen Park both finished at plus-11 as part of a five-way tie at No. 66. Ben Crinella had his best round of the week with a 76 score to finish at plus-25 at No. 100.
Host school Western New Mexico reclaimed the top spot with a 284 score in the final round to finish two-under for the team title. Oklahoma Christian and Colorado Christian both shot even as West Texas A&M and Cal State Monterey Bay founded out the top five who advance to the NCAA Men's Golf National Championships.
Colorado Christian's Dylan Arthur moved up three slots to claim the individual crown with a nine-under score. UT Permian Basin's Sangha Park and Academy of Art's Giulio Zanichelli are the two individuals who also advance to the NCAA Men's Golf National Championships.
