HILO, Hawai'i – Hawai'i Hilo Men's Basketball earned three selections to the 2024-25 Pacific West Conference postseason awards released Wednesday afternoon as voted on by the league's head coaches.
Jake Kosakowski and Julio Montes II were named to the All-PacWest Third Team while Nadjrick Peat was selected as PacWest Conference Defender of the Year for the second time in his career.
Montes II led the Vulcans in scoring, averaging 13.7 points per game while finishing second in the PacWest with a .884 free-throw shooting percentage (conference-only contests). Other PacWest rankings include: No. 7 assists (58) and No. 9 points per game (13.9).
Kosakowski led the conference season with 59 3-pointers for a league-best 3.0 3-pointers per game while finishing second with a .450 three-point shooting percentage.
Peat, who was previously named Defender of the Year for the 2022-23 season, led all other players with 38 blocks and was second in total rebounding (160).
Westmont's Adrian McIntyre was named Player of the Year with Point Loma's Justin Downer named Coach of the Year.
The six-team PacWest Championships postseason tournament begins Thursday with the Vulcans seeded fourth to take on fourth-seed Concordia at 5:15 p.m. (7:15 p.m. local Pacific Time).
