CALIFORNIA – Hawai'i Hilo Women's Basketball fifth-year senior Caiyle Kaupu was named to the 2024-25 All-Pacific West Conference Third Team as voted on by the conference's head coaches.
The Holualoa native (from the west side of the Big Island) transferred from UC Irvine and led this year's team in scoring and rebounding as the Vulcans posted a 6-14 conference record for a 10th-place finish. Kaupu totaled 350 points on the season, ranking No. 7 all-time for single-season totals scored by a Vulcan.
Kaupu's PacWest rankings for conference-only contests: No. 6 points per game (15.8), No. 8 free throws (60), No. 8 rebounds per game (7.3), No. 11 field-goal percentage (.425).
The Konawaena HS graduate posted a career-high 28 points (11-16 FG) against Point Loma and tallied double-doubles both matchups against Menlo.
Azusa Pacific's Kelly Heimburger repeated as Player of the Year with Point Loma's Charity Elliott named Coach of the Year. The Sea Lions claimed their first PacWest regular season title.
