HILO, Hawai'i – Hawai'i Hilo Women's Tennis celebrated its three seniors after wrapping up regular-season play with a two-match defeat to HPU this weekend at the UHH Tennis Courts.
Vulcans departing seniors are Akari Ichikawa, McKenna Mountain and Cami Oyama.
Saturday's match had a delayed start due to inclement weather forcing unplayable conditions. The match began with singles play and was continued early Sunday morning with HPU winning, 4-0. Sunday afternoon started with a 1-1 split in doubles as Mila Srebro and Marie Cordonnier took a 6-3 victory on Court 1. In a tight seven-point tiebreaker, Lehua Jordan and Cami Oyama narrowly fell on Court 3 as the Sharks took the 1-0 lead before wrapping up another 4-0 win.
Hawai'i Hilo moved to a 7-11 record as HPU moved to 9-9 overall.
