HILO, Hawai'i – Pitchers Madison Rabe and Madi Lee allowed just one run each as Hawai'i Hilo Softball swept Menlo, 5-1 and 9-1, Thursday afternoon in Pacific West Conference play at the Vulcan Softball Field.
Rabe went the distance in Game 1 while Lee earned the win in Game 2 after entering in relief and going 4.2 innings in the five-inning mercy-rule victory.
Thursday marked the Vulcans' first home games since March 5 as well as the first official contests of competition since March 21 against Vanguard in California.

- Rabe gave up just four hits along with four walks while striking out two batters. The senior induced 14 fly outs and five ground outs.
- Hawai'i Hilo outfielders combined for 10 putouts.
- RBI hits provided by Mariah Antoque (two-RBI double), Kanoe Piltz, Breeann Leong and Mia Joaquin (home run).
- Game 2: Menlo 0 - Hawai'i Hilo 9 (5 inn.)
- Janessa Santos got the start in the pitching circle but had rare trouble finding the strike zone through the four batters she faced (three walks and a strikeout).
- Lee allowed just five hits and one walk while inducing nine ground outs and one fly out in the truncated game.
- Hawai'i Hilo sent 12 batters to the plate in the bottom of the first inning scoring seven runs on six hits.
- Ava Monturio brought the first run in with a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch — her seventh of the season, which now ranks No. 5 in the program's single-season record books tying with Natalie Fujimoto (2006).
- Antoque had four putouts and four assists at shortstop, including turning two 6U-3 double plays.

Hawai'i Hilo was voted No. 6 in the Pacific West Conference Preseason Coaches Poll. The Vulcans finished the 2025 regular season at No. 6 in the conference standings. The four-team 2026 PacWest Championships postseason tournament will be hosted by Biola on May 5-7 in La Mirada, California.
