First round 300 has Vulcans tied for 6th at Regionals

The University of Hawaii at Hilo's first round 300 puts the Vulcans in a 6th place tie following the first round of the NCAA Division II Men's West/South Central Regional on the Grey Rock Golf Club in Austin, TX.
 
Cal State Monterey Bay' 288 is three strokes better than second place St. Edward's. Coming up next are Chico State (293), Western New Mexico (295), Cameron (299), UH Hilo and Colorado-Colorado Springs (300), Cal State Stanislaus (301), Dallas Baptist and Colorado Christian (303), UC San Diego (305), Sonoma State and Dixie State (306), Simon Fraser and Western Washington (309), Colorado State-Pueblo (310), Colorado School of Mines (311), California Baptist (314), Midwestern State (317) and St. Mary's-Texas (323).
 
Chris Shimomura leads the Vulcans squad at even-par 72, three strokes behind the tournament leaders.  Corey Kozuma and Dalen Yamauchi are tied for 13th place at one-over-par 73. Kyeton Littel and Christian Agosto are tied for 89th place at 10-over-par 82.
