The Vulcans will play the winner of that match Saturday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m.

Hawai'i Hilo finished the 2022 regular season unbeaten at 13-0-3 overall and 8-0-2 in the Pacific West Conference to capture the PacWest Championship for the second consecutive season. However, this time, the title was claimed outright after the Vulcans finished 2021 with a tie for first place to earn the co-champion moniker.
A 3-1 win over Concordia University Irvine (Oct. 27) in the penultimate regular season game earned at least a share of the conference title before a 3-1 victory against Azusa Pacific (Oct. 29) closed out the season and clinched the PacWest Championship outright.
The Vulcans reached a national ranking as high as No. 6 in the United Soccer Coaches Division II Poll and finished at the No. 8 spot in the final weekly rankings released Nov. 1.
In the NCAA's Division II Regional Rankings, Hawai'i Hilo closed out at the No. 1 slot, which was reflected in earning the top seed for the West Region.
A season ago, the Vulcans defeated Point Loma Nazarene to earn the head-to-head tiebreaker and advance to the postseason with one of three automatic qualifying bids. Hawai'i Hilo traveled to Seattle, Washington where they fell to Sonoma State, 5-1, in the NCAA West Region First Round.

With the No. 1 seed in the West Region, the Vulcans could theoretically host five NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship matches at the Vulcan Soccer Field.
Of course, the Hawai'i Hilo women's soccer team would have to win its upcoming game to reach that feat. A win in this Saturday's match would advance the Vulcans to next week's West Region Championship against the winner of the Western Washington West Regional subregion composed of the Vikings, Point Loma Nazarene and Sonoma State.
Furthermore, the West is hosting the South Central Region in this year's NCAA Quarterfinal Round, so the winners of both of the South Regional subregions would fly out to the Big Island next week to play for the region title and then subsequent West/South Central Region showdown. The victor of that match would advance to the NCAA Semifinal Round on Dec. 1 at Seattle Pacific University.
