PALO ALTO, Calif.--The UH Hilo men's golf team concluded the first day of the Goodwin hosted by Stanford University at the Stanford Golf Course.
The Goodwin is a three-day tournament with a competitive field of 28 teams including seven nationally ranked Division I teams: Washington (9), Georgia Tech (11), Stanford (14), Oregon (36), Northwestern (42), Nevada (47), and Little Rock (50).
The Vulcans currently have the edge over DI Howard University. Howard is last place (+31) while UHH is 19-above-par and just six strokes behind the 26th place team, Miami University (+14).
Keith Ng finished in the Top 20, tied for 16th, shooting three-under-par. A great start for the British Columbia native.
Dustin Franko was just one-over-par tied for 71st place followed by Noah Lau tied for 138th (+9), and Nicholas Gomez and Andrew Otani tied for 143rd (+12) resulting in a team 19-above-par in 27th place (299).
The Vulcans will tee off starting at 9:10am HST (12:10pm PT).
