HILO, Hawai'i – The Hawai'i Hilo Women's Cross Country team won't have to travel far in 2025 with all regular-season competition staying within the 808 state.
The Vulcans will take their regular tour of meets hosted by each of the four Hawai'i schools (UH Hilo, UH Manoa, Chaminade, HPU) with the Pacific West Conference Championships coming to O'ahu in late October.
NCAA West Regional Championships will be held Nov. 8 at Ash Creek Preserve in Monmouth, Oregon.
This year's Hawai'i Hilo squad welcomed six newcomers (three freshmen) after four departures from a season ago.
"We've welcomed some new faces this season and the team's putting in the work," third-year head coach Alan Ryan said. "We're focused on progressing and getting better as we continue to build the program."
The team will have had roughly three weeks of official training before opening with UH Manoa's Big Wave Invitational (4K) at Kapi'olani Regional Park (O'ahu) on Sept. 5.
Hawai'i Hilo's lone home competition of the season is Oct. 11 at the Grand Naniloa Resort Banyans Golf Course.
Vulcans are following up last fall's slate of claiming team victories at both the Chaminade Invitational and HPU's Sharks Open — having broken a 17-year drought going back to 2007.
