20 for 2020. The top 20 was selected by an esteemed panel of experts, so don't @me if you disagree. :)
On December 4, the UH Hilo volleyball team took to the court in San Bernardino, Calif. for the NCAA Division II West Region tournament, their first trip to the postseason since 2011. As the No. 7 seed, their match-up would be against No. 2 seed and No. 4 nationally ranked Western Washington--a tall order in more ways than one. Back in the second weekend of the season, the Vulcans faced off with the then-No. 2 Vikings and went five sets, a preview of how good this 2019 team could be. This time against the tall WWU squad, the Vulcans took two of the games to the brink, falling in the first set 26-24 and in the third, 25-23. Ultimately, Western Washington would control the block in an otherwise even match (13 blocks to five), ending the successful Vulcan season at 23-8.
